We'd love to get to know you better! Below are some possible questions you could answer in your introduction:
What is your name and age?
Where are you from?
Do you have a favorite bird or "hook bird" (the bird species that got you into bird watching)?
What was your most memorable bird-watching moment or encounter?
Why do you love birding?
I am Joyce Nadler, a rising sophomore from New Jersey. My "hook bird" is the Cedar Waxwing, as it was my first encounter with visually fascinating birds in the wild. One of my most memorable moments while birdwatching was when I identified a Black Scooter swimming near the coastline of Sandy Hook Beach. Being on a relatively casual trip (with little hope of finding anything besides the occasional gull), I was ecstatic with my find! One thing I love about birding is how much it makes you appreciate the often-overlooked natural spaces that we all are surrounded by. As a visual and graphic arts director at Fledglink, I aim to promote avian conservation and birdwatching to younger audiences.
